Details & Specs

Vented Chest seals should be used when an open chest injury occurs. Chest seals work by closing the chest wall opening to keep collapsed lungs inflated. The 4-vent design is self-regulating to allow for the release of accumulated air or evacuation of blood, and is effective in preventing the re-entry of air and debris through the open chest wound.

  • TWIN PACK - Contains two separately packaged vented chest seals, each in a foil package that can be separated featuring the Ever Ready First Aid Quick Tear.
  • LATEX FREE 4-VENT DESIGN - Vented Chest seals should be used when an open chest injury occurs. Chest seals work by closing the chest wall opening to keep collapsed lungs inflated. The 4-vent design is self-regulating to allow for the release of accumulated air or evacuation of blood, and is effective in preventing the re-entry of air and debris through the open chest wound.
  • LARGE RED TAB-ONE STEP APPLICATION – Simply hold the seal by the red tab, peel away the protective plastic film and apply over the open wound for fast and effective results. Each seal is approximately 6.6” square and has a large 1.25” tab for easy application and removal.
  • MEDICAL GRADE HYDROGEL ADHESIVE - Creates a superior lasting seal, even in extreme cold and heat. The chest seal has transparent backing to allow for placement directly over the wound and easily conform to the patient’s chest. The adhesive ensures a strong seal even when blood, sweat, hair, sand and water are present. Clean and dry the area around the wound as much as possible before applying the chest seal.
  • INDIVIDUAL FOIL POUCH WITH QUICK TEAR – Each chest seal comes in a lightweight, vacuum sealed, puncture resistant package, with our Quick Tear, allowing for fast and easy access.

Love the smaller design and the built in vent to lower the chance of a collapsed lung!

Exactly what I trained with in the Army. Good price and works well.

As a Legal and Responsible gun owner, I feel that owning a firearm comes with it the responsibility to know how to treat victims of Active Shooter and other incidents involving firearms if called upon. I'm sure most hunters feel the same way. But knowing how is little help if you don't have the supplies available. I pray that I NEVER need to use the items included in my trauma pack, however I'd rather be prepared. Even if after training in how to treat wounds I become incapacitated, at least I will have the supplies on-hand that other first responders can use to save a life. Even though I haven't had to use these I'll give them a 5-Star rating.

This is one of those things that you don't really want to use (like life insurance), but it's worth having so that you have the best chance of taking car of those around you. It's pretty self explanatory and easy to use (particularly if you already are familiar with the concept).

Got these to add to our first aid box. Great item to have if you are in and out of remote areas as much as we are. Peace of mind for emergencies.

Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it! I ordered these for my emergency bag, I haven't used one, but I am grateful to have them in case of emergency. They appear to be well made, and at 15 dollars for two, I think it's a fair value to anyone who might want to keep this on hand.

This comes in a nice sealed wrapper. I got this to add to my first aid kit in case of an emergency.

While I hope to never have to use one of these, this does appear like it would do the job. The adhesion is very very strong and the section in the middle is large enough for a typical wound. I keep one in my work vehicle as part of my emergency kit to have on hand just in case!

I'm thankful I cannot say how well these worked in real life. But, they are an important addition to one's home trauma kit. An open chest wound is uncommon but if it does happen, you'll want one of these to seal the wound so the victim's lung doesn't collapse. Most 'trauma kits' available nowadays are mostly full of band aids. Don't stop there. Add things like these so you can handle something bigger than a cut finger.

This is the product you hope you never need, but if you do, it can be lifesaving. A wound that penetrates a lung can cause a sucking of air through that opening. It is important to seal that off quickly. Latex-free.
