Strong Comfortable Support

Made of soft foam padded aluminum, the splint becomes rigid to support fractured or injured limbs when shaped it into a simple C, W or T- shaped curve. The aluminum core is lighter and more flexible than plaster or fiberglass splints so patients find these much more comfortable and flexible. Additionally it is waterproof so it is perfect for all conditions and environments. Our splint is also radiolucent allowing Xrays to be performed without having to be removed.

Easy to clean and reuse, this splint measures a full 36" long and 4-1/4" wide and can be cut into smaller sizes using standard household shears. It is folded for convenient storage so be sure to have one on hand in your home first aid kit, camping gear, boat and car glove box.

Refunds, returns, and exchanges

Great, cheap alternative to the SAM splint. They're inexpensive enough to keep several of them in my various kits, and they work great. They stand up to multiple uses, too.Not quite as strong as the name brand SAM splints, and the aluminum in them is a little narrower. That said, still perfectly useful for most arms and ankles.Pro tip: these are transparent to x-rays so you can leave them in place when having x-rays taken at the doctor (tested personally).

This is to add to my first aid kit

I haven't had to use this, but it seems nice and rigid so it should work well as a splint in an emergency.

The "Sam Splints" are very easy to work with and these were what i was looking for. I highly recommend them.

I have an emergency medical kit and this is exactly what I was looking for to help complete the kit.

I just bought three different SAM-type splints on Amazon and they seem comparable:(a) SAM brand, $13.49, Made in USA(b) Everready 4.25 X 36 Inch Padded Aluminum Splint, $6.16, Made in China(c) Dixie 4.25 X 36 Inch Padded Aluminum Splint, $5.87, Made in ChinaAs far as stiffness goes, they are all about as stiff and to me, the SAM seems to be the limpest of them all.They weigh different amounts, could be foam weight, could be aluminum weight, could be both. In same order as above, weights are:(a) 123g(b) 149g(c) 140gThe only big difference I see, besides instructions printed on the splint, is smell.(a) No smell(b) Slight petrochem smell(c) Slight petrochem smell.B and c come folded. I smoothed them out and rolled them just like the SAM brand. The fact that they were folded did not seem to affect my ability to roll them or form splints into desired shapes.

I picked up one of these for my whole family. I hope they never need to use it, but if they do, they've got one on board. We carry these in our EMS bags as Emergency Medical Responders and find them to be versatile and practical.
