I'm going to buy another one for three reasons. The first is Murphy's law. The second is that my purpose for it is to treat gunshot wounds and those are likely to have not only an entrance but an exit wound as well and air can escape from either, the third reason is that I don't want someone who is in the middle of an adrenaline rush to jab a decompression needle into my lungs to relieve a tension pneumothorax. This is so much simpler.

Hope I never need to use these but if I do they're way better than trying to use a baggie and tape on a sucking chest wound.........

First off, I must be clear, I have not had to use one real word (thank God). I attended a class taught by a very well respected USAR Special Forces medic. He spoke very highly of this item. He was very humble about his skills and experiences, but I got a strong feeling his confidence in the Asherman was based on real world situations. Credible experts, old timers and self styled 'authorities' on combat medicine will be quick to tell you, a chest seal can be made out of a sandwich bags, credit card, Etc.. This is true. The Asherman seal just allow you to do it quicker and more efficiently. It also eliminates the need to "burp" the seal. In my opinion, if you have a need to seal a chest in the dark, on the move, riding in a vehicle or huddling behind cover, you will be glad you spent the few extra dollars for a pre-made seal.
