Features:

  • H&H has made several important improvements to the overall design of this product in response to customer feedback. The improvements you will see include:
  • Enlarging the pull tab for easier removal of the chest seal from the backer and easier use and application.
  •  Adding a dry edge around the exterior of the seal to reduce incidences of adhesive sticking to packaging or user’s gloves. Upgrading the hydro-gel for increased adhesion.
  • Repositioning of the three one-way valves into a straight line to make folding the product into kits and packs easier.
  • Adhering the one-way valves to the valve cover and adding a foam stabilizer to lock the valves in place and reduce the risk of air getting past the valves and into the chest.

Added this to aALL my medical kits. Appears to be an excellent / improved emergency chest seal product.

Comes in a heavy, clear plastic package. Rim seal is 3/16" wide all around, and 2 slight cuts, 1 per side, allow for manual opening of the package. Includes 1 chest seal, and 1 absorbant dressing for cleaning and drying around the wound.Today is 9/04/15. My seal kit was manufactured 5/2015, and expires 2 years and 8 months from now on 5/2018. I accept that as a good shelf life. When considering shelf life, please understand that the expiration date is chosen to satisfy liability requirements. There is no magic switch that corrupts these things the day after "expiration." That date is a guaranteed use-by date. I fully expect this to last at least a year beyond if stored properly. The package isn't set up to fold over or roll up easily, though with careful work, it will. It will go into one of my action kits where it won't need but 1 fold. Since most of the product is below the mid line, I expect no problems.

As tactical firearms trainer I cannot stress just how important it is to have a set of chest seals in your personal Blowout Kit (BOK). And I've found that BOLIN CHEST SEALS are some of the best IMO. They come professionally packaged, sterile, and ready to use at a moment's notice - for that one moment everone hopes they never have to experience. But wishing, hoping and good training alone won't always make the inevitable go away. Spend enough time in an armed environment and someone, somewhere, somehow, will inadvertently get shot. You hope it never happens. You you'd better be prepared if and when it does. And just having these does not mean you're qualified to use them. GET TEAINED IN THEIR USE. I'll say that again. GET TRAINED IN THEIR USE. And then buy them. They're not much good to YOU if you aren't sure how they're applied. And a GSW to a friends chest is not the time to find out you don't know what you're doing.

I have not used this product, but it folds and fit nicely in an individual aide kit.

Haven't had to use it yet thank god. But even so I can tell its a quality medical device. And I have good faith it will work well when needed.

It arrived fast and I liked the price and fast shipping. would buy again if I run out, but have yet to use it. Wish it had a better backing to prevent damage when packed.

I recommend this to anyone that knows how to use it or has been trained to take care of a sucking chest wound. Clear the area of blood, dry the area fast and slap it on. Sure beats doing it the old way!

It looks Iike it is supposed to and I hope I never have to use it. But at least I'm prepared.
